Time To Move!
Welp, the time has come to move a whopping six blocks down the street...the actual moving doesn't start until tomorrow but our house is packed up and pretty much a disaster...
Now you can see why I was making that face!
In the midst of our moving, Mary had developed a "Green Thumb." Well, I guess she is more determined to kill all of the weeds rather than grow anything...she has been weeding ALL WEEK LONG...this picture is from this morning, day 4 of weeding, you can see how much progress she has made! :)

One Last Drug Bust Before We Move
What would our last week in the corner be like without another drug bust...yup, that is bust #3 that I have witnessed at this house. I guess the cops found out we were moving and decided to spice up the last week for us...this wasn't quite as exciting as the others though, they let this guy walk away (literally as his car is still sitting in front of our house 24 hours later). Hopefully it will be a little more quiet at the new place which is a whopping 6 blocks down the street.

HOORAY! My First Track Win!!!
Last night was kind of quiet at the track as thunder rolled across town around 5:30pm, I think a lot of people got scared away. Nonetheless, it never rained despite the clouds and thunder and we got in a great night of racing...and I say great because I won my first track race! It was a 10 lap scratch (so you just sprint at the finish). I sat in and let everybody attack and try to get away, sitting on wheels to tow me back to the attacker, and then with two laps to go I went...and nobody caught me!!! :) The best part was I had my own little fan club, Christa, Joel, baby Amber, Josh, Mary, Jaimee, Alyssa, and Abby all came to watch...they pretty much made up the crowd for the night. It was awesome!

CONGRATULATIONS MARIA AND BRENT!!!
Friday morning I left the house at 4am to drive up to Denver and then fly into Minneapolis and then drive to WI for Maria and Brent's wedding. Let me tell you, it was well worth the trip!!!
This is my hot date Mary...we have determined we will be lifetime wedding dates at the rate we are going...good thing we really like each other and have fun together! :)
And since getting married last month, Mandy has really embraced dressing up and wearing more "revealing" clothing...I think she really likes wearing dresses and make-up! :)
Me and the newly wed couple just before they took off for the evening...
And thanks to Levi, they left in style! They ran through sparklers and then unbeknownst to anybody, Levi had rigged roman candles on a little remote control truck so they left with fireworks shooting off down the road!

Then I flew home Saturday morning and drove from DIA out to Salida...
for more WHITE WATER RAFTING!!! I met up with the youth group for a night of riverside camping in the shade of Mt. Princeton and then rafting in the morning.
When I got to the campsite, I found my twin...Julie and I were wearing basically the same thing and I seriously have not seen her in a month...maybe since our canoe trip? It was pretty funny because after rafting on Sunday, we got dressed and were wearing the same thing again...different than these outfits. Strange!

Revenge of the mountain bikers!
Today I had the pleasure of doing my track workout with 18 mountain bike juniors who had never ridden the track before. I tried to beat them out there but they were already getting on at 8:30am so that was a fat chance...actually, it wasn't all that bad...no more scary than riding with some of the other juniors around here...I think that is because they were so scared to crash they were overly concious versus comfortable and doing stupid things.

Woo-hoo for Tuesday Night Track Racing!!!
I finally got to race the track last night, it's been a long time coming but well worth the wait...it is so much fun! I raced the keirin (ride behind a motorcycle for 4 laps and then race the last two like a normal race to the finish), 2 lap handicap (they stagger riders around the track based on rider strength), and the points race (sprint every 5 laps for points). I had my best points race ever thanks to Renee, she attacked and I hopped on her wheel to take third on the final lap...I didn't actually get third overall because I did not win any points throughout the race, but my goal was a strong finishing lap and that is exactly what I did. I am finally learning how to pedal really fast! :)

It's 5:20pm and raining...
I am going to take a wild guess and say track racing is not going to happen tonight, bummer! You can't tell my this picture but it is raining sideways because of the wind...definitely don't think this is track appropriate weather!

Time to Race!
I finally got to race my bike this year...I was beginning to think it was never going to happen! Yesterday was the Hammer Time Trial day, so basically one up and two up racing all day long...and I do mean all day long as there were a bunch of people out there on fancy wheels! Check out my bike with the disk and deep dish, Kevin was kind enough to let me borrow his wheels so I could be super fast...and I did feel super fast! Two lessons I learned though: It is important to stop at the FINISH line rather than pursuit line in the 200m and an 86" gear is way to small for all of the races I did! At least I figured that out in June and not August! :) And the best part is week night racing starts this week--yea!

This Week's Excitment
In case you are worried that I have been swept away by the insanely strong winds the last 24 hours...I haven't. Although, it was really close on my ride home from the track yesterday. These windy days are always a lovely reminder of the fact that El Paso county is one of the windiest counties in the nation.
Actually, we have spent the last few days house hunting...we found out that when our lease expires (June 30) we have to move out because the owners are coming back from Mexico...shucks! The problem is that not only do we love this house, but there are no other houses out there right now...I did see an amazing home that some crazy lady is willing to rent to us...she must be out of her mind because the house could get a cover photo on some home magazine...it comes complete with a treehouse, hot tub and pond/stream in the backyard!

Time to Paddle Again!
Only this time I went whitewater rafting down the Arkansas river. We "floated" out of the Salida area which mean amazing views of the snow-covered collegiete range in between the rapids! I believe that is Mt. Princeton in this photo.
Mary came along with me and we were lucky enough to wear these incredible wetsuits...we felt like a cross between power ranges and...
And a big fat advertisement on the river. At any rate, they did keep us very warm and very dry on a chilly (40F) morning on top of really cold (43F) mountain water! In the end, nobody fell out (although Mary jumped out) and it was a ton of fun!
