Happy Halloween!
Since our friend Levi happened to be turning 30 on Sunday, we decided to make our Halloween party themed "Levi" and have a surprise party for him. We all dressed up as him in all his different faces throughout the years.

Flag Football
Saturday was the youth group Flag Football and Chili fest...it was awesome! My team lost by 2 points in OT unfortunately but I scored on a 2 point conversion...maybe I am in the sport? :)

GO INDIANA!!!
Indiana, often known as the worst D1 college football team there is, not only beat ranked Iowa a couple of weeks ago but also smashed the Spartans (Michigan State) on home turf with an overwhelming 46-21 final score! Go Hoosiers!!! :)

24 Hours Later: Post Blizzard Report
I woke up this morning to sunny blue skies, clear roads and warm weather (50s!) That meant it was time to hit the road again on two wheels! I like that kind of blizzard...rolls in and rolls out just like that!

The Blizzard has Arrived!
Last night at 10pm it was still 55F and crystal clear...6am started to rain...7am snow...
9:00am full on blizzard! Snow day for all schools and businesses and I-25 is closed down from the Springs all the way up to Castle Rock.
Punky Who???
Last night was our Halloween Costume party at Youth Group. I was Punky Brewster (hence my awesome pigtails!) While all of the leaders were able to appreciate my costume, none of the highschoolers had ever heard of Punky Brewster because they were "born in the 90's!" Does that make me old?

Blizzard Watch!?!
My morning news weatherman, Craig Elliot, has put us under a blizzard watch beginning tonight through tomorrow evening. Remind me again, where did our Fall go?!

Back to the Books
I started back to class last week. I really like my classes and professors, right now I am taking Adult Psychopathology and Research and Design. Definitely interesting and a fantastic reminder of how slowly I read. With 200-400 pages of reading per class each week, I pretty much spend any time I am not coaching, riding, in class or at church, reading.

Fun Times in the Springs
Chris came down Friday night and we went hiking on Saturday...after I got my THIRD(!) flat in six days on the bike...and the last was even with a new tire and tube! After the third flat, I decided it was time to put the wheels aside and go hiking instead.
Saturday night I went to the CC hockey game...CC lost to UNH by a miserable 5 goals (7-2 UNH.) We had awesome seats though, fourth row behind the CC bench. And that guy in the Rock and Republic Hat in front of me happens to be Mr. Craig Griffin.
Sunday afternoon was pumpking carving with my HS girls small group...last year my pumpkin became a midnight snack for some animal in the neighborhood, hopefully it will last a bit longer this year.

You Must Be Joking...
Seriously, what happened to Fall?! This is what it looked like when I woke up this morning...I think I am just about ready for my off the bike break!

Fun Times in the Mountains
I spent all weekend in the mountains. First, I helped to lead the HS youth group retreat in Fairplay.
We had an awesome weekend. Aside from the normal retreat activities, I also got to bomb around an old mine, have a leaders vs. kids food fight (really, it was leaders onslaught as the kids had no food) and water balloon fight as well (again, it was just us leaders with the ammo.)
After the retreat, I meet up with everybody at Bear Basin to go horseback riding. I have been begging Michelle (she owns BB) all year about riding...I hadn't been on a horse since I left IU in 2002!
I got to ride Mariah...she was for the experienced horsewoman. We came in second during our race up the hill. Really, if i had had the inside line, we would have won! :)

It was an awsome weekend...I love living in the Rockies! :) And man was I exhausted by Sunday evening...I slept 13 hours straight that night!

Dad's Famous Pizza!!!
Mom and Dad are in town visiting this week. Since everybody loves dad's pizza so much, he was nice enough to make it for us at 6000 ft.
The girls were really excited since they have been treated a few times after I had gone home for a visit.
Annie has been lucky enough to have it fresh out of the oven in Michigan...she was ready to devour the whole pizza!
And just a few minutes later, four of Dad's pizzas were completely gone! They were delicious! The 6000 ft modifications (more yeast) worked just right! Yum! :)

Zoolander
Last night was Zoolander night with the youth group. I wore quite possibly the ugliest dress I have ever seen...yup, that's me in the white! The dress was complete with sequins, tassles, lace and shoulder pads! I was a white variation of Tina Turner for the night. If anybody is looking for a great Halloween costume, bidding will start at $0.25 for this fine piece of clothing.

Thanks to Renee, I figured out how to blog this link!
The Guardian
Good movie! Definitely worth seeing, I liked it...and I don't really like Ashton Kutcher all that much!

Bad Decision in Yucky Weather
40F + Steady Rain + bike + 3 hours = Miserable...remind me to NEVER do that again!

Back From California!
I am home from my vacation and it was just what I needed! The weather was not quite perfect (as natives boast) but it made for some awesome evening skies! This is from our backyard.
And this is from the dog park. It wasn't too cloudly inland but the coast was totally foggy and those clouds made the sunsets incredible!
I rode my bike every morning (of course) and in the afternoons I hung out in the pool with Cosby and Rudy. Cos loves the water, he had no problems jumping off the ledge to get his ball.
Rudy on the other hand had to be dragged in and around the pool.
In the evenings it was hot tubbing time...can't beat that!
And of course lots of good time with mom and dad. We went to the Wild Animal Park on Sunday which happens to be a breeding facility. There were baby lions, elephants, rhinos, wild horses and giraffes. It was pretty cool!
The Mile High (Puking!) Club
Yesterday morning I was lucky enough to get the 24 hour flu (at least that's what I think it was.) Flying home made that especially interesting as I got lucky enough to throw up on the plane...I made it to the bathroom but nonetheless it was not pleasant!
