Mmmm, mmmm good...

You know that song "take one down, pass it around, 99 bottles of beer on the wall"? Well, that is exactly what I was doing Wednesday morning as I had to down two 450 ml bottles of barium, apple-flavored barium "smoothie" that is. The apple flavor did not cover the metal taste. But more importantly, I found out my 900 ml of barium was laced with laxatives...yeah, that makes for a fun day! Anyways, the barium was for my first post-treatement CT scan. I met with Dr. Huff (oncologist) today and everything was clean...I wasn't worried and I actually continue to get in trouble (by both my oncologist and radiologist) because I don't do self checks. I figure CT scans every three months will catch anything I need to be aware of. Appearantly, I am being non-compliant...I prefer to avoid paranoia though! :)
Happy (belated) Easter!
As I indicated earlier, it always seems to snow on Easter...and this year was no exception. In fact, Peter was lucky enough to leave CA for the weekend and experience a bonafide snowstorm...lucky Peter!

It was a fun day nonethess as both boys came down to the Springs for the day. Those of you who know me well, know I love hanging out with these guys. Easter was no exception and I was happy to spend time with them...inside! :)

It's Easter weekend, so it must be...

SNOWING! Inevitably, it seems to snow every Easter weekend in Colorado...dad, I can hear you laughing from here. At least I have a lot of homework to do today.

Enough Of April Fool's
Well, while nobody played April Fool's jokes on me, I had plenty of unexpected excitement. First, I was lucky enough to find a patch of inch long hairs that wanted to stand straight up today...I did not even realize I lost an entire patch but there is definitely a kid like patch of hair growing in mid-part.
Then, my work email account broke...and the phone lines were down at CTS...and I could not get in touch with IT...so I did not work today and have no time to catch up this week. I did find a lot of evites in my SPAM folders though...sorry to anybody I did not reply to in the past year! And then there was the mini blizzard that I barely escaped on my bike. But more troubling is the fact that I went to my dentist today after noticing my crown (product of 4 years of braces/retainers and 4 surgeries in my 20s) is literally falling out...the screw is coming loose from the bone. I have to see my oral surgeon next week to see what comes next...and take antibiotics in case of infection.

Needless to say, I wish I was back in Tucson hanging out at Agua Caliente. I need a vacation and have only been back six days.
Colorado's Big Snow
I was lucky enough to fly home from Tucson during the 2009 "blizzard." So lucky, in fact, that my flight to Colorado Springs was cancelled (before it even started snowing) and I spent seven hours with my bike in DIA (read: Sat in a chair for seven hours next to my bike and studied). I finally caught a shuttle home and we made it back in less than two hours?

And this was the result of the big snow: Matty had barely any snow on him...and, the snow completely melted within 24 hours.
