Multi-Family Yard Sale!
Our junk is your treasure! During moving we sorted through all of our old junk and decided to have a yard sale. The Siebs and Dorseys joined in as they had some stuff to get rid of also...as you can see we had quite the collection!
Everybody seemed to think we needed to hit the early morning shoppers, so we all woke up to be ready for selling by 7am! Anne made us delicious breakfast burritos to fuel us for a long day of selling.
Eric was wide-eyed and ready to go at 6:30am on the dot...not so much me. However, his wave and friendly smile seemed to draw customers.
The problem is there were no early shoppers. We did not sell anything until after 8:30 am! Joel was quite content with his pipe while the rest of us were considering what ploys we could use to draw shoppers. Anne's free Lemonaide did not seem to work. I suggested a "Gear Sale" sign...that was the golden ticket! All in all, it was a very successful day of selling and we all were a bit "richer" by the end of the day...and we saw Santa in his costume. It was confirmed by a neighbor that he is indeed Santa at the North Pole!

A Time for Celebration!
Last night Anne, Mary and I celebrated being officially, 100% out of the old house. We had our walk through and turned in the keys. Phew...we never have to go back there again! So, we went out for ice cream at Colorado Cremery to celebrate!

The Most Domestic of Us All: Anne
Annie spent yesterday taking care of the new place...first she mowed the lawn (she really likes the mower!)
...then she painted the bookshelf that was handed down "with blessings" from our landlord, she also had to drill a hole in the back as we turned it into our TV stand.
And that was after she spent the morning sewing new pillow covers for our pillows...which Mary was very much enjoying while Anne worked so hard on other projects.

Santa Claus Has Come to Town!
Check this out! Our new neighbor happens to be Santa Claus at the North Pole! Well, at least that is what we are speculating. Anne has seen him in red knickers multiple times in the morning and his hair/beard are spot on for a Santa job. This was my stealth picture of him cutting his grass, you have to agree, he looks like Santa right? (By the way, the North Pole is a store on the way up Pikes Peak.)

One Long Weekend of Moving...
Although we have spent the past week moving five blocks down the street (I now have prime Manitou Shuffle viewing from my front porch!) there were some highlights. Chris stopped by on his way up to Boulder for the weekend. He was gracious enough to spend a few hours helping me move...than we went to dinner at Poor Richards, well worth the box lifting! :)
After 13 hours of moving on Friday, Anne, Mary and I took a little break on Saturday morning and headed to the Farmer's Market a few blocks down the road from us.
After buying sweet corn and cherries we checked out a new coffee shop in town: Cucuru. It is awesome, I definitely recommend checking it out. It is part coffee shop, part art gallery and has wireless! :)
Later in the day after a ride and unpacking we went to the pool to cool off...
And then Joel made us an amazing dinner! This was the cold front coming in on our way home...it was an enormous cloud to say the least. The peak looks so small! Though the cold front did not cool us off all that much, it was still 90F today!

West of the Missississippi!!!
Anne and I packed up our cars and hit the road Sunday morning. Let me tell you how happy I was to be west of the Mississippi again...I thought the day would never come!
And a day later I was crossing back into Colorado...home sweet home!
Trip Highlights: Driving back with Annie! Check out her sassy sunglasses. They are quite fashionable and come from Michigan's very own Meijers!
The other highlight was the hot airballoon parade we saw as we set out Sunday morning. My favorite was the balloon with a snake in this picture.
Trip Lowlight: My FLAT TIRE...yes, you read that right! Matty got a flat tire in the middle of Nebraska. Fortunately a very nice man and his father changed my tire with their high tech jack and I was back on the road within 30 minutes. Phew!
Trip Questionables: The Hummer. Just in case your H3 doesn't already get bad fuel economy, go ahead and throw a rooftop carrier and bikes on a hitch rack. Heck, this guy must have gotten 5 miles per a gallon...isn't there enough room on the inside???
Questionable #2: Redwings Suck bumper sticker...yeah, I don't agree with that. In Denver, though, this bumper sticker is probably very popular!
Large Blessing: Making it home just before the HUGE storm. I have yet to drive in pouring rain again since my accident. This storm would not have been one to start back in either.

Welcome Home Matty!
YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! I finally got my car! Meet Matty...he's super fancy, a bit of a metro, but I like him. And most importantly, I get to start my drive home tomorrow...phew! I thought I may never get back to Colorado!
Yee-Haw!
I got to spend the afternoon on Rita's boat...have I mentioned how much I love the water?!
I even got to go water skiing. I haven't water skiied in years but I still love it! I seemed to have developed a knock-kneed approach to skiing though...must be that my legs are over developed medially from cycling. I thought I was standing up straight, appearantly not!

The Most Famous Deli in the World...ZINGERMANS!!!
Yeah, I got to see my dad today!!! :) He happened to be in Ann Arbor on business the past few days and since I have been stuck here I got to see him. We went to lunch at the world famous Zingermans, which was delicious as always. I got my all time favorite sandwich, #27 Pat and Dick's Honeymooner. And check out my new haircut compliments of Bethie's mom, Rita! :)

Stuck!
I am still stuck in Michigan for who knows how long. Dealing with an insurance company on the West Coast and a bank that does not exist in MI is becoming quite the problem...I feel exactly like Pooh, totally helpless. Hopefully I will be on my way home soon!

Only In Ann Arbor...
So yesterday I went to get a massage. My regular MI lady did not have time to work on me so I saw a friend of her's who she recommended. Well, this lady was a bit odd. Rather than massage my legs (hello, I am a cyclist) she held my head and felt the flow of my "brain sensations" as well as the flow of my sacrum. She did this by holding her hand under my head (including my "sacrum sensations"...my sacrum is my tailbone!) By feeling my "sensations," she found out that my right brain was more active than the left side, than I had diagnal firing between the right and left. Finally I they leveled off and my brain was balanced. Interesting...but my legs are still tight!
Living Under the Ocean in Michigan
So I am still stuck in Michigan and living under the ocean in a thick blanket of humidity. It is obscene how humid it is here, my bike handlebars were wet after spending a night inside the garage! I can't wait to get back to Colorado's dry air...if I ever make it home!

No Superweek--BOO!
So I am bummed that I am not going to make it to Supweek this year...my insurance check is taking forever to come through and I cannot leave MI until I have bought a car. Bummer! Superweek is my absolute favorite race of the year. I think Beth is about as happy as I am because she gets to wear this awful bridesmaids dress.
Seriously, it is like a tubesock with a mermaid tail. Of course she needs to get it fitted, but I don't think that is going to help much. This dress is just plain ugly, it's about the only thing that I have smiled at today since hearing about my delayed check arrival.

Back In Dexter!
So here I am back in the town I grew up in...Dexter MI. Yup, this is the downtown...all of it! I am staying with Beth's mom for a few days...well until I get my insurance money to buy a new car, who knows how long that will be?!
While the riding in Dexter is not bad the roads anywhere in SE Michigan are awful...this is my least favorite part of the area (aside from winter.) I feel like my bike is going to fall apart more often than not since every road is torn up!
But there are some good things like Afternoon Delight. This is my favorite restaurant in all of Ann Arbor. Beth and I go everytime I am in town. You can't beat their muffins, in MI at least, Wooglins is definitely my all time favorite though.
My other favorite part of MI is the water. Colorado Springs is definitely lacking here and I love to be on water in the summer! I got to spend the afternoon on Lake Ore with Emily and Drew, my friends from highschool.

Michigan Finally Got It!
Yeah! Chipotle has finally shown up in Michigan, it's amazing! I love Chipotle!
And not only did I get to eat a giant burrito, I got to visit with Annie as well! :)

On The Road Again

Well, I was back on the road again yesterday. This time in my rental car, a Kia Sorrento...it fits everything so that is the most important thing. Hopefully I will have a new Jeep within the next week and a half!
The trip was uneventful which is not neccessarily a bad thing! The highlight was crossing into and out of Canada. Good thing I am a cyclist otherwise the metric signs would have thrown me off a bit...100km vs 100mi is a big difference!
The most exciting part of my day was getting to visit my best friend in the whole world (Beth)at the hospital! Yesterday was her very first 30 hour Call as Dr. Beth...this was about 13 hours into the call, she looks good right?! :)

Third Time is a Charm?
So after surviving Stage 3 of Fitchburg (mountain top finish with over 4000 ft of climbing total for the day), I was super psyched for the crit...my favorite type of racing! Well the day did not turn out so great...just after the start, some girl fell over and caused a big crash...seriously I had not even crashed the start line yet!
Then it started to rain hard. The problem with this course is that there is a lot of paint, and rain on these paint strips causes problems. One of the girls crashed her bike on the paint in turn one and I got lucky enough to go down with her...I got back on but it wasn't pretty because I had landed on my FACE!
Post crash and race you can see I scraped some of my face off and have a nice rectangular bruise on my forehead from my helmet. Okay, so let's think, 3 crashes in 28 days is not cool. I have not spoken to as many EMTs and medics in my entire life combined as I have in the past few weeks!
